About
Bill Fever is a British songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
Having relocated from London to Northamptonshire, his ambitions to form a new band in 2020 were thwarted by the pandemic. Writing solo, he self-produced and recorded his debut 4-Track EP “Money Goes To Bloody Money”. He has now self-released 3 EPs and started performing live as a three-piece band in 2024. Joining Bill for the live show are Liam Aistrop on drums and Peter Naylor on guitar.
Bill Fever’s 3rd EP ‘III Weights’ was self-released on the 16th of December 2022. The 5-track EP was created in May 2022 as part of an Album Writing Club run by Brighton-based indie record label Lights & Lines. The challenge was to write and record an album or EP within the space of a month and this was the result. In July it was announced that the EP had won the Album Writing Club’s Judge’s Choice Award.
Bill’s 2nd EP ‘A New Low’ was released on the 19th of August 2022. The six-track EP picks up from where his debut release “Money Goes To Bloody Money” left off, exploring political themes such as corruption, lies in the House of Commons, the NHS and life in lockdown.
There's no escaping the politics in Bill's music, frustrated by the political landscape, he certainly doesn't pull any punches with songs such as “Liar”, “Sleaze” and "Absolutely Diabolical Scumbags". BBC Radio Northampton Introducing DJ Kerrie Cosh said “I really love that about him as an artist, he writes often what he’s feeling about the political landscape, the social landscape… what makes him such a great artist is that he doesn’t beat about the bush, he just tells you what he thinks in his songs”
His debut EP “Money Goes To Bloody Money” was self-released via Bandcamp and CD Baby on the 14th of May 2021.
The title song opened the BBC Radio 6 Music’s Introducing Mixtape and host Tom Robinson described it as “an amazing track” picking it as his tip of the week for local BBC Introducing shows. It was also included in the ‘Best of 2021’ show on BBC Radio Northampton’s Introducing Show with Kerrie Cosh.
“I didn’t set out to make political music, I’ve just been angry with what’s happening in the world and these songs channel that. It’s all really about being fed up with the people in power. It feels important to be shouting out about these things right now.”
Originally from London, Bill grew up on his parent’s diet of Capital Gold and 60’s pop. A bigger influence on Bill as a musician were the covert raids on his older brother’s record collection where he would discover the likes of Radiohead, Nirvana, Queens of The Stone Age, Jeff Buckley and The Smashing Pumpkins.
Bill’s 2nd EP ‘A New Low’ is out now on Bandcamp and all streaming platforms, ‘III Weights’ is also out now.
